The average duration of a visit is approx. 80 minutes. However, you can of course stay in the exhibition as long as you like.

Virtual Reality Experience (VR)

Tickets with and without additional VR Experience available.

If you buy the ticket without the VR experience, you can visit the immersive exhibition and enjoy a seated VR experience. 

In addition to the immersive exhibition and the seated VR experience, there is also the opportunity to experience the world of Tutanchamun up close. In this full-body VR experience, you discover the Valley of the Kings in a separate room. You will need a ticket with VR Experience. 

AGE RECOMMENDATION

Children up to and including 4 years old can attend free of charge and without a ticket. Please note that the exhibition is not a playground. Due to sound and light effects, we recommend the Tutankhamun exhibition for children aged 6 and above.

Accessibility

  • Guide dogs: Animals are prohibited (with the exception of guide dogs for the blind on presentation of proof).
  • Pushchairs: Pushchairs are generally permitted in the Lichthalle MAAG. Please note that food and drink are not permitted. For safety reasons, we reserve the right to restrict access to the exhibition with pushchairs in individual cases (e.g. large crowds of visitors). Car parking spaces are available.
  • Car parks: The MAAG Light Hall is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility. Two car parks for people with disabilities are located directly in front of the MAAG hall.

Food & Beverage

The Lichthalle bistro offers drinks and snacks for smaller appetites.

Tuesday-Sunday from 11.00 am - 6.00 pm

From 5.00 pm we ask you to take a seat in the lounge, as the tables are reserved for dinner. A reservation is not necessary.

From Tuesday to Friday you can eat at Bistro k2, which is also run by MAAG Moments and is located next door. The Bistro k2 team will be happy to serve you seasonal daily specials and à la carte dishes. Table reservations for Bistro k2 can be made on 044 444 26 66 or via service.bistro@maag-moments.ch.

ILLNESS / POSTPONEMENT

We now offer a Flex Ticket that allows you to reschedule your ticket to a different date up to eight hours before your booked time slot. Rescheduling after the slot has started is not possible.

Please note: Without a Flex Ticket upgrade, rescheduling is not allowed.

Refunds are excluded. If the event is postponed, the tickets remain valid. If the event is canceled, you will receive a refund for the ticket value. For general inquiries, please contact our ticketing team at the hotline 0900 444 262 (CHF 1.19/min).

PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items are prohibited in the Lichthalle MAAG and will be confiscated by security staff:

  • Any drinks in glass bottles, cans, PET and tetra containers
  • Gas spray cans, colouring, corrosive or otherwise harmful substances
  • Food of all kinds
  • Liquids in glass, cans and other containers
  • Professional photo cameras, video cameras and recording devices of any format, selfie sticks
  • Laptops, tablets, computers
  • Weapons of all kinds, objects that can be used as weapons or projectiles, laser pointers
  • Backpacks and bags larger than A4
  • Sports equipment such as roller skates or kickboards
  • Banners, signs larger than A2 and flags with poles longer than 1 metre
  • Fireworks, sparklers, smoke petards, other pyrotechnic and Bengali items including launchers
  • Animals (except guide dogs)
  • Objects, items of clothing and/or media with racist, xenophobic, violence-glorifying or discriminatory imprints or content

Prohibited items can be deposited for a fee.

FAQ

    • WHAT IS A TIME SLOT TICKET? WHY SHOULD I GET A TICKET IN ADVANCE?

      Each ticket is valid for a specific time slot during which you are admitted to the exhibition. You can stay in the exhibition itself for as long as you like. You decide which time slot your ticket is valid for when you book (online, by telephone or at your advance booking office).

    • ARE YOU ARRIVING EARLIER OR LATER THAN YOUR BOOKED TIME SLOT?

      If you arrive a little earlier or later than your booked time slot, there may be a wait at the entrance. However, tickets purchased will of course remain valid for the day booked. After admission, there is no time limit on your visit to the exhibition - within the opening hours.

    • What is virtual reality?

      VR refers to a digital, artificial world that can be experienced with the help of special software and hardware and enables an immersive experience. By using VR glasses, high-resolution displays, 360° or 3D content and auditory elements allow you to immerse yourself completely in the virtual world.

      As a rule, visitors spend around 80 to 100 minutes in the exhibition. You should definitely allow this time.

    • IS IT PERMITTED TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS OR FILM IN THE EXHIBITION?

      Yes, but without a tripod and for private use only.

    • CAN BAGS AND RUCKSACKS BE TAKEN INTO THE EXHIBITION?

      Bags and rucksacks must not be larger than A4 format, otherwise they must be handed in at the cloakroom for a fee.

    • ARE ANIMALS ALLOWED IN THE EXHIBITION?

      No, animals are not allowed in the exhibition. Assistance dogs are excepted.
